The ‘2024 International Programming Robot Challenge (IPRC)’, sponsored by AMD, a leading company in the field of high-performance and adaptive computing, will be held at Hwajeong Gymnasium in Korea University on August 3rd to mark its 14th anniversary.
IPRC is a leading youth robotics competition in Korea that has been held annually since 2011 by Roborobo and the Creative Science Education Research Association to expand the field of robotics and nurturing future talents. The IPRC recorded more than 100,000 cumulative participants in and out of Korea, making IPRC a major robotics competition in Korea.
As a part of the global STEM education development expansion MOU plans signed between Roborobo(CEO Young-seok Choi) and AMD, AMD will be providing electronic devices such as laptops powered by AMD Ryzen™ CPU and AMD Radeon™ GPUs and certificates to mark the start of a joint project between Roborobo and AMD to help build awareness and interest in STEM careers.
John Choe, Director of Global Business at Roborobo said, “through the sponsorship of AMD for the IPRC competition, it is one of the joint projects to contribute to global social contribution activities since the MOU was signed between the two companies in May. In addition, we expect that both domestic and global participating students will be motivated to grow into future talents through the generous sponsorship of AMD.”
“At AMD, we believe the impact of our technology is best amplified through the hands of the next generation. We are deeply excited to extend our partnership with Roborobo through the 2024 International Programming Robot Challenge as we empower the engineering leaders of tomorrow in inspiring them to pursue STEM education” said Anne Fertitta, head of global community affairs at AMD.
